AI chess coach
The AI Coach in ChessMoves AI learns from your own games. It reviews each game with a chess engine, explains the moments that decided it, and finds the patterns that repeat across your games, so your training goes where you actually lose points.
How the AI Coach works
- Bring your games. Pick a game you played on ChessMoves AI, or upload a PGN exported from another site, such as Lichess or Chess.com.
- Engine review. Stockfish checks every move and measures what each mistake cost, phase by phase.
- Plain-language explanations. The key moments are explained in words: what went wrong, what was better, and the idea behind it. The moves named are checked against the engine.
- Your weakness profile. Across the games you have analysed, it shows your accuracy in the opening, middlegame and endgame, whether your errors lean tactical or positional, the tactical themes that cost you most, where you are most likely to blunder, and repeated time-management patterns.
- Training from your weaknesses. Build a puzzle pack weighted by the themes that cost you points, follow a study plan, and practise your own mistakes in Lessons.
Position explanations and improvement recommendations
Each reviewed game shows the critical positions on a board, with the better move and the engine line that shows why. Your weakness profile names the first thing to work on, with a one-click route into training for it.
What it is, and what it is not
The AI Coach is a reviewer and a training planner built on engine analysis. It is not a human coach: for live lessons, ChessMoves AI also has a directory of human coaches who teach on a shared board with video. A free account includes one AI Coach analysis a month; the paid plans include more (see the plans and prices).
